Vegan Cooking
I chose this because I am a vegetarian and I have a passion for cooking and baking. If I were to make a magazine with this genre it would include substitutes for common non-vegan ingredients along with tasty recipes that don't have any animal products. The vibe of my mood board is like healthy, fancy, and tasty.
This magazine really stuck out to me because of all the colors on the plate, background, and text. I like how they used different fonts to capture the attention of readers. It also uses numbers to make it seem easy.
Gardening
I chose this because along with my passion for cooking, I love growing my own herbs and flowers. This magazine would include instructions on how to grow certain plants and some tips that will help your garden run smoothly. The vibe from my mood board is like fresh, fun, pretty, refreshing.
The reason I chose this particular magazine is because it has a cute "cottagecore" aesthetic. It makes gardening look affordable, easy to make, and beautiful. I also love the fonts that it uses because they match the vibe.
Fashion
I chose this because I don't know a lot about fashion, but I do want to learn. If I were to make a magazine with this genre it would include trendy clothes as well as ways to make simple, but nice outfits. It would be a very "beginners" type thing.
This particular magazine caught my attention because of the juxtaposition of the title and picture. I love how the photo itself is fully black and white but the name is colorful. This really made it pop and if I were to buy a magazine this is the first one I would see. Most other magazine focus on making it super colorful and bright to try to accomplish the same thing but this one just takes the cake
Travel
I chose this genre because I am just a big fan of travel. If I were to make a magazine with this genre it would have to be about cute local places since I have to photograph everything myself. My magazine would contain the hidden gems of Miami and it would mostly be chill places and things you can't miss when you visit.
I chose this magazine not only because it's about Aventura but also because the cover shows the reason that most people come here. The first thing people think about when they hear Miami is the beach. This magazine really plays into that to capture the attention of a reader, and once you read the rest of the cover you realize that it also has things that you can't miss when visiting. If I choose this genre I plan to do something similar.
